Abstract
In recent years divorce has become a very popular term in the ears of the community, this is because the divorce rate continues to grow. Not less than 5 people change their status every day to become widows / widowers. The Madura region is also the largest contributor to divorce rates in East Java, especially in Pamekasan and Sampang. The number of divorces per year in these two regions reaches more than a thousand. Interestingly, thousands of divorces are dominated by the number of divorce. The writing which is the result of this study discusses the phenomenon of increasing divorce rates initiated by the wife (divorce) in the two regions from year to year, and describes in depth about the causal factors. Using a descriptive qualitative approach with a phenomenological type, the results of the study show that in the past three years the divorce rate in Madura has increased and is dominated by divorce, the causes of which are very diverse which can be categorized into internal and external factors in the household model.
