Abstract

Involving 189 students, this study conducted to analyze the effect of cognitive load of multimedia instruction and prior knowledge on spreadsheet skill achievement. A 2 (low and high cognitive load) x 2 (low and high prior knowledge) factorial design applied to test if each of the factors significantly affected the skill achievement and if there exist the interaction between both of them. The analyses shows that only prior knowledge significantly affected the spreadsheet skill achievement.
