Abstract

Islam is one of the religions that gives birth to its own fear or in popular terms Islamophobia. One of the factors in the proliferation of this term is the role of the media which continues to highlight extrinsic Islam so that Islam is known as an anti-tolerant and violent religion. In addition, the concepts of jihad and war strengthen the position of Islam as a rigid and extreme religion. the data obtained from the analysis of journals, papers and books that are relevant to the title of this research. This research concludes; The first is the concept of jihad and war is not a foreign term in Islam, the Messenger of Allah once fought against the Quraish infidels during the da'wah period in Medina. However, the war carried out by the Prophet was not aimed at attacking but rather protecting Muslims and the establishment of Islam at that time, as well as the concept of jihad this term is not new, however, jihad is not carried out by killing or committing suicide because this concept has never been practiced either by Rasulullah or the companions, this research methodology is a qualitative type of literature review. Jihad has many variants, Uthman bin Affan, for example, made jihad by donating most of his wealth as did Abdurrahman bin Auf.
